28/01/2009: Global Water Engineering Ltd. teams up with GLV Inc. to market its technologies in the North American market

Hong Kong, January 28 2009 – Global Water Engineering Limited (“GWE”) is pleased to announce the creation of a North American joint venture with Canada-based GLV Inc. (listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange TSX; ticker symbols GLV.A & GLV.B) to market its anaerobic digestion processes for the treatment of industrial wastewater and its energy production technology using the biogas generated by the digestion of industrial organic waste.

The new joint venture, named Global Water & Energy, LLC (“GW&E”), is 30% owned by Global Water Engineering Limited and 70% by GLV Inc.

GWE has granted the new entity (GW&E) an exclusive and perpetual license to market its selection of processes for the anaerobic treatment of industrial wastewater and organic waste, and for the conversion and handling of biogas to produce energy. In exchange, GLV will invest in the start-up and development of GW&E over the next years.

GW&E will be based in Austin (Texas) and will therefore benefit from synergies with GLV’s Water Treatment Group (Eimco Water Technologies). The joint venture will primarily target the North American food and beverage processing industry, as well as certain other key sectors. Further agreements could be subsequently reached to serve various other geographic and segmented markets.

GWE’s Chairman and CEO, Jean Pierre Ombregt says he is very pleased with this joint venture. “It allows GWE to further penetrate the North American industrial wastewater treatment and renewable energy from biomass markets.” “These markets hold significant growth potential, especially with the clear will of the new Obama Administration to invest in wastewater treatment and renewable energy sources.”

“By teaming up with GLV we are convinced to have chosen a solid partner to approach this market.” “GLV is a strong name in the North American water market through its Water Treatment Group Eimco Water Technologies.” “Its water treatment technologies are perfectly complementary with our anaerobic wastewater solutions.” “Through GLV’s Pulp and Paper Group, it has also has a strong presence in the pulp and paper industry, which has very suitable waste streams to be treated anaerobically,” Jean Pierre Ombregt concluded.
